As well as taylor made sea kayaking courses for the beginner through to the advanced sea kayaker whether on practical or theoretical skills. Nige is also a BCU contracted course provider and is therefore able to run a full range of coach education training and assessment courses.

As of this year I am pleased to be offering the new 3 star sea course also available for SIT ON TOP kayaks.

The new 4 and 5 star leadership awards both training and assessment.

Prices; 1 day £85/person/day (provided a minimum of 2 persons),
2 days £160/person (provided a minimum of 2 persons on the course.) includes equipment. Prices for 1:1 coaching available on request.

Sea kayak refresher
One or two days aimed at those people who have done some kayaking in any form before, maybe some years ago and are looking to get back into or get on with sea kayaking.

Intermediate sea kayaking
One or two days for those who have done some sea kayaking before and are looking to perfect their skills and maybe venture out in some more challenging conditions.

Safe sea kayaking and incident management
This 1 day course looks at those elements that ensure safe kayaking e.g. effective planning, good technique, appropriate preparation, risk assessment and equipment. Together with an introduction to effective incident management and rescue strategies. (Also suitable for sit on top kayaks)

Paddling in Tide Races; two days
For those paddlers wishing to experience the thrill of paddling in tide races aimed at intermediate paddlers with confidence in moderate water conditions.

Pembrokeshire Expeds
3 or 5 day expeditions paddling along the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast, with a choice of accommodation options which can include overnight bivvy’s on remote beaches.

3 Star surf training and assessment
1 day training and 1 day assessment for paddlers who have done some kayaking in the surf and are looking to perfect their surfing skills to maximise their wave opportunities.

3 Star sea kayak training and assessment
1 day of training and a day’s assessment for those sea kayakers who have been paddling for at least 12 months and who are looking to recognise their personal skills and theoretical knowledge at this s level in sea conditions up to force 4.

4 star leader sea kayak training
For those sea kayakers who wish to be trained in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal water environment with sea state force 4. Includes detailed action planning for assessment.

Coastal navigation and planning
The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on coastal journeys.

4 star leader sea kayak assessment
For those sea kayakers who wish to be assessed in the skills necessary to lead other paddlers in a moderate tidal water environment with sea state force 4.

5 star leader sea kayak training
This is a leadership award and the appropriate training for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles. . Includes detailed action planning for assessment.

Open water navigation and tidal planning
The aim of this theoretical course is to give the student the tools to enable them to plan and navigate effectively on open water journeys.

5 star leader sea kayak assessment
This is a leadership award and the appropriate test for paddlers who wish to lead groups of other paddlers in appropriate locations in advanced tidal waters and dynamic weather conditions typified by the Climate of the British Isles.
